The Shata Shuzo

The brewery has been in business since 1823, in the shadow of one of Japan’s largest volcanic mountains. They brew exquisite sake thanks to the blessing of this dormant goddess (namely, her naturally filtered water). This brewery was founded by Shata Tauemon in 1823. In his hometown of Hakusan in Ishikawa Prefecture, he found himself so impressed by all the delicious sake he was tasting on his long trip that he decided to start his own brewery to make even better sake.
